2627147 Ontario Inc. o/a SignalSplit · Effective July 17, 2026 · v1.0

01. Who We Are and Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how 2627147 Ontario Inc., operating as "SignalSplit" and "SignalSplit.com" ("SignalSplit", "we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information in connection with the SignalSplit website, platform, APIs, and signal contribution, transit, and distribution services (collectively, the "Services"). We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada) ("PIPEDA") and other applicable Canadian privacy laws. By using the Services, you consent to the practices described in this Policy and in our Terms of Service.

The Services are business-to-business tools intended for broadcast professionals and organizations. This Policy covers personal information of account holders, authorized users, and business contacts. It does not cover the content of signals you transmit; you are the controller of your Customer Content and are responsible for any personal information it contains.

02. Information We Collect

  • Account and contact information. Name, company name, email address, phone number, business address, role, and credentials you create.
  • Billing information. Billing contact, invoicing details, and transaction records. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processors; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Technical and usage data. IP addresses, device and browser information, login timestamps, API calls, session identifiers, port and slot assignments, stream session statistics (such as connection times, bitrates, resolutions, codecs, packet loss, and destination endpoints), diagnostic logs, and security event data.
  • Signal metadata. Technical parameters of transported signals (for example PIDs, codec identifiers, SCTE marker presence, and frame rates). We operate as a technical conduit and do not review the substantive content of your signals in the ordinary course, though signals may be technically processed, previewed for troubleshooting at your request, and momentarily buffered as part of transit.
  • Communications. Support requests, quote requests, sales correspondence, and records of our interactions with you.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. As described in Section 8 and our Cookies notice.

03. How We Use Information

We use personal information to: provide, operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the Services; provision and manage accounts, slots, ports, and endpoints; process Orders, quotes, invoicing, and payments; monitor performance, capacity, and abuse; detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, unauthorized access, signal piracy, and violations of our Terms; communicate with you about the Services, including service, security, and maintenance notices; respond to inquiries and provide support; send commercial electronic messages where permitted under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation ("CASL"), with an unsubscribe mechanism in each message; improve and develop the Services, including through aggregated and de-identified analytics; enforce our agreements and protect our legal rights; and comply with legal, regulatory, tax, and audit obligations.

04. Consent

By providing personal information to us or using the Services, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of that information as described in this Policy. Consent may be express or implied depending on the sensitivity of the information and your reasonable expectations. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting our Privacy Officer; withdrawal may limit or prevent our ability to provide the Services.

05. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers. Hosting, cloud infrastructure, content delivery, payment processing, identity verification, analytics, email, and support vendors who process information on our behalf under contractual protections.
  • Professional advisors. Lawyers, accountants, auditors, and insurers, under duties of confidentiality.
  • Business transactions. Actual or prospective purchasers, investors, or lenders in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, provided the recipient is bound to use the information consistently with this Policy.
  • Legal requirements. Courts, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties where required or permitted by law, including to respond to lawful demands, comply with the notice-and-notice regime of the Copyright Act (Canada), enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of SignalSplit, our customers, or others.

06. International Transfers

Our service providers and infrastructure may be located outside Canada, including in the United States and other jurisdictions. Personal information transferred to those jurisdictions is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions and may be accessible to their courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities. We use contractual and organizational measures to require comparable protection from our processors.

07. Retention and Safeguards

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with legal, tax, and audit obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce agreements, after which it is destroyed, erased, or de-identified. Technical and session logs may be retained for security and diagnostic purposes for limited periods. We maintain physical, organizational, and technological safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and credentialed administrative access. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Services at your own risk, and you are responsible for safeguarding your own credentials, stream keys, passphrases, and signed URLs.

08. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the operation of the Services (such as session authentication) and, where applicable, analytics technologies to understand usage and improve the Services. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling necessary cookies may prevent the Services from functioning. See our Cookies notice for details.

09. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, or correction of, your personal information in our custody or control, and may challenge the accuracy and completeness of that information. We may require verification of your identity and may charge a minimal fee where permitted. We will respond within the timelines required by PIPEDA. Certain information may be exempt from access, for example where it is subject to solicitor-client privilege, contains information about others, or was collected in connection with an investigation. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

10. Children

The Services are intended for business use by adults and are not directed at, and may not be used by, individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time by posting the revised version at signalsplit.com/privacy with a new effective date. Material changes may be additionally communicated by email or in-Service notice. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
